WANTED: Web developer

Erskine Design are in need of a full-time web developer to work with us in our Nottingham office. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a unique, responsible and creative agency.

Everyone at Erskine is encouraged to help design, maintain and document our processes and best practices and you’ll be no different. Candidates should show a willingness to engage with clients and get stuck into team activity, and show a willingness to both teach and learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the creative ideas are realised to a technically perfect standard
  • Research, plan, design and specify projects, often to aggressive schedules
  • Design, maintain and document development processes and best practices
  • Continually research the latest developments and technologies

  • Collaborate with the team, our clients and partners

Requirements:

  • PHP5 and MySQL programming
  • Strong understanding of the CodeIgniter PHP framework
  • Strong understanding of the ExpressionEngine CMS either through building websites or developing add-ons
  • Strong understanding of good development practises
  • Ability to plan projects and evaluate work within scope
  • Great communication skills

Icing on the cake:

  • Experience of working in an agile environment
  • Experience working with, and managing version control workflows
  • Understanding of Javascript, particularly the jQuery framework
  • Experience of integrating with web services
  • Project management skills
