After three and a half years Simon Collison, founding partner of Erskine Design has left the company to pursue what he really loves. “This has not been an easy decision as Erskine has been my life. But I woke up one morning and realised I spend all my time running an agency as opposed to doing what I love: designing, writing and speaking.”
We’re thrilled to announce that we recently won a long-term contract to provide web services for Derby City Council. We’re very excited to be partnering with Derby’s forward-thinking, standards-aware software development team, beginning with a major rethink and redesign of the primary website.
We met some exceptional candidates (or “contestants”, as Greg calls them) for our front-end developer role. Ultimately, it is multi-talented code-smith Wil Linssen who’ll be bringing all his skills to our yard. Plus he is a human, able to talk to other humans without machines. He’ll fit right in.
We’re just back from this year’s .Net Magazine Awards held at London’s Millbank Tower, and very proud to be runners-up in the Design Agency Of The Year category. Congratulations to fellow runners-up the beardy-faced Otterball, and the winners of course, our good friends Clearleft.
Founded in 1998, A List Apart is the definitive online magazine “for people who make websites”. Issue 289 is a special dedicated to the redesign of the agency/portfolio site, and features Colly’s in-depth overview of our own redesign process.
We’re delighted to announce that long-time Erskinite Jamie Pittock recently took a Director’s role with Erskine. Jamie is now officially our Operations Director, responsible for ensuring we deliver work on time and on budget, alongside his existing all-round design, development and project management skills.
