Erskine Design

Erskine Corporation, once our sister company, was a regeneration practice that challenged mediocrity. They considered all the aspects that affect communities, places and spaces not restricting their thinking to traditional silos such as the built environment or socio-economics; they linked it all up.

Produced shortly after Erskine Design was founded, this ambitious redesign and rebuild was produced in tandem with the first Erskine Design website. The two sibling company websites shared a common architecture, layout grid and general aesthetic, except that where Corporation was white, Design was black, and vice versa. Both websites were based upon an innovative approach to the “elastic” layout that made the most of the viewer’s browser width without ever stretching beyond comprehension or legibility.

Although Erskine Corporation has now been retired due to the growth of Erskine Design, the website still remains a key project in our folio. Broad, conversational content, individual and shared blogs, smart relationships between practitioners and their case studies and much more besides mean that this website will always be one of our favourites. Besides, when these sites launched, everybody loved them!
